“Doesn’t It Look Like a Rainbow?”

Okay, before you start screaming the next time your child spills something and makes a big horrible mess, ruining something valuable in your house…read this story sent in to us from by Leslie Rackowski.

My son, who was five at the time, once spilled a full pitcher of Kool-Aid after I told him not to pour it himself. When I came into the room, after hearing a loud noise, the Kool-Aid was spreading all over the floor, even going down underneath the baseboards into the basement. I was just about to get upset with him and ask him why he had poured the Kool-Aid when I had told him not to, when he says, “Oh, look, Mom. Doesn’t it look like a rainbow?” Now how could I get mad at that? Ever since then, whenever something bad happens in our lives, I always look for the rainbows in it, from that lesson learned from my son.
